ERACE POVERTY began as a one-time fund raising initiative in the Spring of 2007 (then known as "Run for the Fields"), when four runners in Seattle all decided to run their first full marathon together.  For them, running a marathon was more than a physical feat; it was an opportunity to make a difference in the world.  After partnering with, and raising nearly $5,000 for a village in Guatemala through a local non-profit organization, they decided this can and must be done more frequently and on a larger scale.
